The public consultation process was implemented by Suffolk Coastal Council for proposed developments at Felixtowe, Martlesham, Rushmere, Westerfield and the two Trimley villages, reports the Suffolk Evening Star.
Consultation was extended from the original ten weeks to 12 due to the volume of responses, with one of the areas which may see a protracted debate being the proposed creation of 1,620 new homes on the northern edge of Felixtowe.
The council's planning policy and implementation manager Steve Brown said the intention was for recommendations to be made in May following an assessment of the plans.
While councillors in Suffolk seek to smooth the way for more property development, permission has been granted to a property developer to build 61 new homes.
Cala group has had the go-ahead from Ryedale council for the development on the edge of the town of Pickering, which will include 21 affordable homes, the York Press reports. |
